Belgium has an excellent museum of musical instruments from around the world and across time. The collection focuses on the instruments of Europe. But there is an exhibit of approximately 100 African and Asian percussion instruments in the floor that details the history of the percussive and frictive membranophones. (Drums, Cuica, etc.) If you have a chance to visit this wonderful city, this museum is a must see.
